Education that is: Classical, Christian, and Covenantal
Partnering with parents to develop students who are marked by their virtue and their intellect.
Classical education
“whatever is true,…whatever is lovely …think about these things. ” Philippians 4:8
Classical education teaches students how to learn instead of what to think. It guides students through the natural phases of learning: grammar – the acquisition of facts, logic – the organization of knowledge, and rhetoric – the persuasive presentation of wisdom. Its goal is to inspire the soul to love what is true, good, and beautiful.
Christian education
True education must be Coram Deo –before the face of God. Geneva Academy is guided by the underlying philosophy that all truth is God’s truth. All of reality must be seen through the lens of the Creator. Every class is founded on the Word of God not just Bible class.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10
Covenantal education
“Fathers… bring (your children) up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4
A covenant is a binding promise between two or more parties. God commands parents to educate their children, not the state or “village”. Geneva Academy seeks to be an instrument in the hands of parents. We covenant with the family to come along side and serve, not replace them.
